How can the Cultural and Creative Industries (CCIs) generate innovative services aimed at promoting the productivity and competitiveness of Textile and Clothing (T&C) companies? What phases of the industrial production process can be benefited? How to evaluate the impacts that artistic intervention generates in business organizations?

In an attempt to resolve these and other questions, ECONCULT (Universitat de València) developed last July the conference “Art, Creativity and Innovation in the Textile Sector” with the participation of cultural and creative agents from various disciplines. See below the documentary that collects the experiences and testimonies of this stimulating day and invites us to reflect on the role of art, creativity and innovation in the European textile sector.

The documentary is part of the European Interreg MED project “CreativeWear: Creative Clothing for the Mediterranean Space”, which brings together seven partners from four Mediterranean countries (Greece, Italy, Slovenia and Spain). The aim is to revitalize the T&C sector through hybrid forms of innovation based on creativity, art and culture. This approach is embodied in the implementation of five pilot experiences (Prato, Ljubljana, Palermo, Athens and Valencia).
