Our colleague, Dr Sendy Ghirardi, has recently defended her thesis titled ‘The relation between the museum experience and the individual psychological well-being of museum-goers. Two studies’ on the 19 of March 2019. The reading took place at the University of Languages and Media of Milano IULM, Italy.
Her work, under the direction of Professor Pier Luigi Sacco, has focused on the relationship between the museum experience and the psychological wellbeing of museum-goers, based on two separate studies in the Mediterranean area, of which one was based around the Museum of Ethnology of Valencia.
Her research has demonstrated that there is a relationship between the frequency of visits to museums and the psychological wellbeing of individuals, and that museums play an important role in the growing relationship between cultural participation and wellbeing.
Dr Sendy Ghirardi arrived into Econsult as a PhD candidate to undertake her doctoral research in February of 2018. Through her close collaboration in a number of projects she then decided to join Econcult in October of last year.
The Econcult team would like to congratulate Dr Sendy Ghirardi for her achievement, and to give her the warmest welcome.
