Our colleagues Óscar Blanco and María Sendra attended the RegioTex event in Brussels on the 27th Feb, in representation of the Econcult team, which has undertaken important research work as part of the Interreg MED-funded CreativeWear project.

Coordinated by EuraTex, CreativeWear partner from Belgium, the meeting was structured in a series of interactive workshops designed to inform RegioTex stakeholders from the participating regions about the “interregional investment projects” to be financed using an expected new EU structural funds instrument called Interreg Component 5, which should become available after 2020.

The objective of this event was to define real investment projects to support innovation, technology transfer, education and training. RegioTex was set up to spur smart regional investment in textile innovation, believing that regional competences and infrastructures are the key to Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) innovation in the textile & clothing sector.

At the event, Óscar and María presented the results from the last phase of the project evaluation, which is nearing completion after close to three years of work by the Econcult team.
